Pebbles & Bubbles

Repeated visits to one UK beach inspired this collection of designs. Each time I visited this incredibly flat, deep, and long beach — it would have a new set of flotsam and jetsam brought up by the waves such as razor shells, seaweed, pebbles, feathers, sharks’ eggs, or the intriguing coiled castings of rarely seen sand worms. I collected these images with interest and then gradually I started painting the items onto a collection of pebbles that I’ve had since childhood. I enjoyed making them so much that I made more than 60 pebbles.
