My name is Joanna. I am a freelance designer. My work encompasses graphic design, illustration, decorative design, and physical wares such as cards, wrap and hankies. I like to work with companies that that are ethical, value the environment and embrace social accountability, projects that are educational or/and meritorious.

Initially I trained in fine art painting but after some further training, I now have extensive experience as a generalist graphic designer working for clients that include the BBC, Oxfam, Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard University Presses.

The character of my creative work comes from my background fine art combined with more conceptual graphic work. Depending on the task at hand, I might explore my ideas through the methods of drawing, photography or painting before going digital and sometimes the other way round. I love the happy accidents that come from mixing tools and techniques — it keeps things exciting!
