Under the moniker of Urban & Wild, I make vibrant and engaging Illustrations and patterns. On this page and this page, you will see my fascination with foliage and seaweed, for example often overlooked natural details — a pile of petals or leaves collected by the breeze; the delicate tendrils of a climbing plant; a tangle of seaweed.
My foliage fascination started as a young child when I enjoyed the gardens of my grandparents and great uncles. These plots were long and green. They had tall hedges, secret paths, wild corners and fruit cages bestrewn with red and purple berries. There were wondrous wigwams of climbing beans covered in scarlet buds, floppy emerald leaves and elongated verdant pods.
